Scottie Goodson is the Aerobic Instructor at the Wellness Center in Dadeville. Scottie teaches a circuit training and abdominal workout class on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm. The purpose of the class is to help each person achieve their goals at their own pace. Scottie wants his class members to feel and to look better! The class begins with a warm up to loosen up the muscles. Then there are a series of cardio exercises to get the heart rate up for twenty minutes. The class ends with an intense abdominal work out to strengthen and tighten the abs!
Ronald Murray is the newest addition to the Wellness Center. Ronald has a two year associates degree in Fitness Training from Virginia College in Birmingham. This degree allows him to teach aquatic and land aerobics and provide personal training. Ronald will serve as the aquatic aerobic instructor. Water aerobic classes are held daily in the heated therapy pool. Ronald teaches high and low impact classes. The aquatic classes allow for maximum cardio and muscle training without the effects of gravity on the muscles and joints. Classes are taught at night for those unable to attend during the day. The classes are high energy and provide a great way to exercise, relieve tension and get a good overall workout.
Ronald is also a personal trainer. He has experience working with athletes, senior citizens, Cardiac Rehabilitation patients as well as individuals needing individual attention. The Wellness Facility is equipped with the most up-to-date equipment using free weights, Nautilus, Free Motion and Cybex machines, and a variety of cardio machines including treadmills, ellipticals and recumbent bikes. Ronald can provide one-on-one training based on an individual’s personal goals. Ronald can work with patients needing special assistance after an injury or illness. He can also design a personalized program for those wishing to make a life-style change and to commit to a healthier way of living.
